How much is one lakh?
One lakh equals 100,000. Ten lakh equals 1,000,000, which is one million.
How much is one crore?
One crore equals 10,000,000, or ten million. One crore also equals 100 lakh.
Why are commas placed differently in Indian numbers?
After the first three digits from the right, the Indian numbering system groups digits in pairs. For example, ten million is written as 1,00,00,000.
Does the USD value of a lakh or crore stay fixed?
No. The rupee quantity is fixed, but its value in US dollars changes with the INR to USD exchange rate.
